Blackshear cleared to play for Louisville

The NCAA informed Louisville on Friday that McDonald's All-American Wayne Blackshear has been cleared to compete as a freshman, a source confirmed to CBSSports.com. The news was first reported by Scout.com's Evan Daniels.

CBSSports.com reported last weekend that Blackshear wasn't yet through the NCAA Clearinghouse.

"But Wayne's situation is, I think, pretty good," Louisville coach Rick Pitino said at the time. "We are optimistic."

For good reason, apparently. A source told CBSSports.com that Louisville learned Blackshear had been cleared toward the end of Friday's practice. He will likely be held out of Saturday's practice because, the source added, the 6-foot-5 wing "won't be ready. "

"But he'll go Monday," the source said.

CBSSports.com rated Blackshear as the 24th-best prospect in the Class of 2011.

Blackshear cleared to play for Louisville

Not totally true! That's like saying all Florida is is sand or all Idaho is is patato country. Southern Indiana is not bad at all Northern Ky is. That's real dump. Places like Frankfort and Lexington don't qualify as true cities they are just big towns with nothing to do in them.

Blackshear cleared to play for Louisville

I wouldn't brag about living in Indiana, especially southern Indiana. Its a s***hole.
From Louisville to Indy, it's corn and water towers. Who doesn't enjoy three hours of that?

And COWS...

But seriously, that place blows.

Blackshear cleared to play for Louisville

Well, I am MORE than happy living in Indiana, KNOWING that my children are receiving a better education that they did in Kentucky, where you live....you see, Indiana is ranked in the Top 10 for education, whereas Kentucky is in the bottom 10.
So that explains the stupidity of UK fans. Poor education. And let me guess, you attended a Kentucky public school.

I attended a private school. Do you think I care about the public education system in this state? You get what you pay for...

As for posting on the Loserville news....well, it's to simply remind you that Loserville is NOT Kentucky, and never will be, despite what you WISH IT TO BE. Loserville will ALWAYS be second to Kentucky.
Louisville doesn't want to be Kentucky...why would it?

Now, for Coach Cal......again, to state fact.......
...he's left two schools on probation and vacated two Final Fours.
Flash back to 10 years ago....Slick Rick GUARANTEED a National Title.....how's that worked for LOSERVILLE???
In the last 40 years, Louisville has had two head coaches, both Hall of Famers. We don't run coaches off because we have realistic expectations...can't say the same about UK. So when Cal leaves due to infractions, who is the next poor soul to try to tame that uneducated (your words, not mine) fanbase.

Same ol song and dance. Why are you always commenting on Louisville news? Is it because you're a washed up 41 year old with the mentality of a 12 year old, ticked off because you have to live in Indiana, and even more ticked off because you secretely know Cal is going to leave UK the same way he left UMass and Mempghis, on probation? That it? Must be.

As you were...

Blackshear cleared to play for Louisville

Coach Cal was NOT found guilty of cheating at UMass. Marcus Camby accepted gifts from an agent. And, to be entirely correct here....it was Coach Cal who reported it to the NCAA. Hell, he wasn't even investigate by the NCAA.

Coach Cal was NOT found guilty of cheating at Memphis. He was investigated, but was cleared of any wrong-doing. He even has a letter from the NCAA stating as much.

Coming from a fan of Calapari, the one and done king.  Can't wait till they take away more banners for his ongoing cheating... UMass, Memphis, and soon UK...

Honey....first off, welcome to the CBS message boards. Second off.....learn what you are talking about. Coach Calipari has been investigated, but has NEVER been found guilty of cheating....unless you have proof, which I assume you do based on your "ongoing cheating" comment. Now, to be correct, between Coach Cal and Slick Rick, only one of them has ever been busted by the NCAA....Slick Rick. That's fact. And, if you want to count his "15 seconds of shame", then we can say that he's been busted TWICE for cheating.

To summarize......

Finally, what does being the "one and done king" have to do with anything? In fact, it is probably a very incorrect title. Look at coaches in the NCAA, and you will find MANY that recruit the "one and dones". Rick Barnes at Texas does it just as much as Coach Cal. But, if recruiting the best talent available is what works for Coach Cal, then I am fine with it. After all, Loserville, I mean Louisville, has flamed out in the first round two years in a row with supposedly "developed" talent, whereas Kentucky fans had to suffer through an Elite 8 and a Final Four with supposed "one and dones".

Blackshear cleared to play for Louisville

Don't worry Louisville fans.....Slick Rick knows how to develop talent....right? Maybe by his senior season, Blackshear will be allowed off the bench and might actually be doing something for Louisville. Of course, Slick Rick will probably have retired by that point.
