Here at CBSSports.com, we decided to poll our stable of experts on 10 questions prior to the start of the season - everything from Player of the Year to Breakout Player and the guy we are each most concerned about.

Jim Nantz politely declined the invite and Clark Kellogg opted to pick and choose a half-dozen of the questions (Clark's got a few inches and plenty more credibility than me, so who am I to argue).  We even got Seth Davis to fill 'em out (although it was so impressive that I'm still not convinced it wasn't one of his kids picks).

And if you missed any of our loaded preseason content, you gotta go here and see all the work we've done. Here goes on the day that the college hoops campaign truly gets going:

CBS' preseason predictions and accolades

I do think the only reason UNC is ranked ahead of UK is because of all they returned. UK has more "unknown". Although, as you said, UK has all the pieces to win it all.

What is up with these picks? Terence Jones isn't even the best player on his own team. How can he be Player of the Year?

Norlander, I owe you an apology. I have falsely accused you several times, but you have enough BB acumen to realize that UK will win the NT. If UNC's players suddenly found themselves being on UK's team none of them would start. There is no way that Zeller or Henson would start ahead of Jones and/or Davis. Also, Lamb and/or Miller would start ahead of UNC's shooting guards--of which none are listed in the top 20. Teague is much quicker, able to penetrate more effeciently, and open the exterior than is Marshall. And, although Teague is not the greatest shooter, he is better than Marshall. Gilchrist--Gilly the Kidd--even though he is a year younger, outplayed Barnes in high school several times. When we factor in both ends of the court Gilchrist is much more valuable the Barnes. I have absolutely no doubt whatsoever, UK has much, much, more talent than does UNC. I have copied each of these so-called experts, and I will remind them come April.
