NEW YORK -- Jim Boeheim began the media gathering on Tuesday afternoon at the Marriott Marquis with the following statement:

"This is all about basketball," said Boeheim, whose Syracuse team will play Virginia Tech Wednesday night in Madison Square Garden. "If you want to talk about something else, I'm going to leave."

"I made one statement," he later added of his initial comments which followed ESPN's report that Orange associate head coach Bernie Fine had had sexually molested a pair of former team ball boys. "And I thought it was the right statement."

Let's face it, though. No one was there to talk basketball with the Syracuse head coach -- except for maybe the elder gentleman with the funky hat. We were all there to make certain that Boeheim didn't pop off again about Fine, and the recent allegations levied about Fine and sexual abuse with former ball boys Bobby Davis and Mike Lang.

Boeheim came out strong immediately against the 39-year-old Davis, saying he and Lang, 45, were searching for a payday.

Boeheim was fairly tame (by Boeheim standards), but it didn't take much to prod Boeheim into at least touching on the situation -- and allegations -- involving a guy who he has known for 50 years.

"It's been investigated three times," Boeheim said. "And it's going to be investigated again ... Everything will work itself out in time - and when the results are in, we'll know."

The latest in the investigation is whether the police will release all the documents to the district attorney.

"I support Bernie - as I said before," Boeheim said. "I've known him for 50 years. If something else happens to surface with facts, we'll have to adjust to that."

But Boeheim has no regrets regarding his initial statements.

"This has been investigated three times," he said. "Bernie has been a great friend, a great person to work with. Until something factual comes up, it's not going to change a thing."

"What we have is to be determined," Boeheim added. "We have to see what we have. We don't know."

In view of recent revelations, including the the taped phone conversation, the firing of Fine, and the apology from Boeheim, some of you really come off as a bunch of mentally retarded, father figure-worshipping rent boys.

Par for the course wherever sports fans congregate of course, but still lol.

this is a bunch of bull..
same thing PSU without the lynch mob.

Until something factual comes up,
the media , and people do not need facts anymore, just what media tells us

"What we have is to be determined," Boeheim added. "We have to see what we have. We don't know.

yo coach..samething can be said about joe before you opened your yapper about him.

Boeheim is a idiot after what he said about Joe, without him knowing anything more than what the lynch mob told us..
it is safe to say, if the lynch mob media were on this like psu, syracuse would do what psu did, just on media pressure, which would turn it into somethign it isn't

They can investigate this 100 times if they want, in my opinion it's going to have the same results every time!

Let's just take 1 thing into perspective: A pedophile preys on children!

This dopehead claims that Bernie "molested" him from age 12 to age 27.  If he wanted someone to believe any of this, he should have made the story up with his age a bit different...say 8-12. I have to call BS on this all the way, and my reasoning is actually simple. IF this did happen (which I 100 percent don't believe it did) from say age 16-27, I don't know about anyone else, but if some pervert old man tried something with me, he would never have made it to the next day and if by some miracle he lived through the savage beating, he would need machines to assist his life from that point forward.

Out there somewhere, there are some poor kids being molested and sexually abused by some sicko, but these 2 crackheads are making up a story trying to get money for their next fix!

GO CUSE!!!!!!

Why has Fine had to be investigated 3 times?  Where there is that much smoke....
It's just one incident that was investigated by three separate groups. If he were investigated for three unrelated incidents each involving different people, then maybe you could say something about there being too much smoke.

These allegations are not true.  Why would Lang introduce his step-brother (Davis) to Bernie Fine if he had truely been molested by the man? It just doesn't make sense.

If Fine is a pedophile, why haven't more people come forward? At Penn State, about 40 people have come forward about Sandusky. Some victims and some who knew about it. But that's not the case at Syracuse.

Boeheim put his finger on it when he said they were looking for money. There is no evidence to support the claims. There are no witnesses to support the claims. They hope if they make enough noise the University will pay them to go away rather than fight a civil lawsuit.

I think JB is spot on.    You support a friend until you can't support them anymore.    Until some facts come out JB is right to stand by his friend.

Amen!

It was investigated by ESPN, the Syracuse newspaper and Syracuse University hired a law firm to investigate the claim.  All decided Davis was not credible.

What's changed?  For some reason Davis' step-brother, Lang, now claims he was abused by Fine.  The Syracuse newspaper says it interviewed Lang in 2003 and he denied any knowledge of any wrong-doing by Fine.  Undoubtedly he was interviewed by ESPN and SU's law firm as well.  He told all three that nothing happened and now he's changing his story and that's enough to destroy Fine's reputation?

If Schwarz were a real journalist instead of a hack, he would have asked Lang why (if he was really being abused) he would encourage his little brother to meet Bernie Fine and become an SU ball boy.  If you knew of a pedophile, wouldn't you tell your little brother to stay away from him?

It's all bullshit.
