UPDATE, 2:45 p.m.: Syracuse University tweeted out the following Sunday afternoon: "In light of new developments, we'd like to reassure you that SU is committed to getting to the truth in the Bernie Fine situation. We hold everyone in our community to high standards and we don't tolerate illegal, abusive, or unethical behavior - no matter who you are."

The evidence seems to be mounting against Syracuse associate head coach Bernie Fine.

The most recent news in the sexual molestation case against Fine is a recorded call back in 2002 between Bobby Davis - one of the alleged victims - and Fine's wife - and also a third accuser who has come forward.

Davis and his step-brother, Mike Lang, have said they were both molested by Fine -- the long-time assistant of Jim Boeheim.

ESPN hired an independent voice-recognition analyst to confirm that the voice on the tape matched that of Fine's wife, Laurie Fine.

On the call, Davis talks with Laurie Fine -- and much of their conversation includes fairly graphic details.

"I know everything that went on, you know," Laurie Fine said on the call, obtained by Outside the Lines from Davis. "I know everything that went on with him ... Bernie has issues, maybe that he's not aware of, but he has issues ... And you trusted somebody you shouldn't have trusted ... "

"Bernie is also in denial. I think that he did the things he did, but he's somehow through his own mental telepathy has erased them out of his mind.

Davis also said he had sex with Laurie Fine when he was an 18-year-old senior in high school.

"The issue at hand is he had no business doing what he did with you," Laurie Fine said to Davis on the call. "You know what, neither did I because I really helped screw you up a little more, too."

In addition to the audio of the phone call, The Syracuse Post-Standard also reported that there is a third accuser, 23-year-old Zach Tomaselli, who told police that he was sexual abused when he was 13 years old back in 2002 at a Pittsburgh hotel room.

Tomaselli was interviewed by police earlier this week, just days prior to a search warrant to search Fine's home was issued.

Tomaselli is facing sexual assault charges involving a 14-year-old boy. His estranged father also has called his son a liar in regard to his son's claims against Fine.

keep on defending the indefensible like the Penn St wannabees that gave Boeheim a standing ovation last night,

It is well beyond bad judgement to attack victims of a pedophile with no evidence like Boeheim did in a national spotlight, on purpose, with premeditation. It is bad Character. Especially considering the acts happened on HIS watch in HIS program.

He has poor character because he attacked the VICTIMS of his pedophile friends IN PUBLIC without any evidence.
This is not evidence of character, it's evidence of judgment...and in this, we agree...he made a mistake going TOO far in his defense of his friend. And if YOU could read, and comprehend what you've read, you'd see I've said THAT all along. Boeheim put himself at risk by defending his friend too stridently. THIS IS THE ISSUE HE CREATED.

It's good to see that you are no longer crucifying Boeheim for NOT knowing his friend was criminally deviant when he hired him. Maybe you ARE comprehending some of the points after all.

Now I'm really done with you. There's plenty of other boards on this subject you can fight on...

Boeheim has poor CHARACTER because someone he knew committed crimes he was unaware of?
fanboy..evidently you cant read either.

He has poor character because he attacked the VICTIMS of his pedophile friends IN PUBLIC without any evidence. He purposely accused the victims of being con-men without a single bit of evidence.

Keep defending the indefensible

No point in carrying on with you, hooterville. The guy defended his friend, and that was a mistake. He was outraged that his friend was being accused, he believed, falsely, and he put himself at risk for being so passionate in his defense. It was rash. But the rest of your baloney is just that, garbage. Throw your stones in your glass house all you want, but you DON'T know everything that is being concealed from you by your friends and family...you DON'T...so wake up and understand the trap Boeheim fell into. It happens everyday...people defend accused and/or guilty people every single day out of ignorance, loyalty, or simply bad information. Boeheim has poor CHARACTER because someone he knew committed crimes he was unaware of? We're all guilty of something under that definition. And poor JUDGEMENT for hiring a guy who committed a crime? Dude, now you're going to hold someone accountable for hiring someone who subsequently commits a crime? You're absurd.

Actually, I'm shocked I'm taking the time to reply to someone named "hooterville" in the first place beyond placing an order for wings and brew.

And "fanboy"...brilliant cutdown. I'm devestated. I'm done with you.

. You're missing the point completely. IF BOEHEIM KNOWINGLY HIRED A PEDOPHILE OR KEPT HIM EMPLOYED AFTER CHARGES WERE PROVEN AGAINST HIM, then yes, that says something about his judgement. It seems you're using this board to try and flame comments for your entertainment,
no, you are missing the point. Boeheim went on the attack against the victims of his pedophile friend with NO evidence. It was a truly disgusting thing to do. Openly, in a press conference, condemning the VICTIMS of a pedophile on his staff without any evidence to back up his disgusting statements is enough that he should have already been fired.  In addition IT could be seen as an attempt to scare other victims from coming forward.  &nb
sp;

In addition, having a person like Fine as a friend for 40 years and hiring him to work on his staff DOES tell us something about Boeheims JUDGEMENT. Then going on the attack against the victims tells us about Boeheims CHARACTER....and both are lacking.

Call that flaming if you want..but it's the truth. You are just a Syracuse fanboy who doesnt want to face it.

umm..no. I dont have any pedophile life long friends (this alone says something about Boeheims judgement)  and if i did find out  i would be the first one in line at the police department...... as would ANY decent human being.
Get real. You're missing the point completely. IF BOEHEIM KNOWINGLY HIRED A PEDOPHILE OR KEPT HIM EMPLOYED AFTER CHARGES WERE PROVEN AGAINST HIM, then yes, that says something about his judgement. It seems you're using this board to try and flame comments for your entertainment, rather than participate in a reasoned discussion. Have fun with your bad self. If you're really missing the point that people can't know all of the skeletons in other people's closets, including, sometimes, those of friends they've known for years, then there's no point in trying to get through to you. Seriously...I'll bet plenty of your friends don't know about your "cross dressing" days.

The last sentence was a joke, so don't get all puffed up.

AS far as the apparent lifestyle choice description of the FINE'S, the plural was used purposely to cover BOTH Bernie and his lovely wife's actions. She's quite a woman, that one. Not only does it appear that she was aware of the validity of the ballboy's claims, SHE had sex with him as an 18 year old. I feel like I'm watching a best of Jerry Springer episode. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

The other amazing information concerns the 3rd accuser and his estranged Dad saying that his son is lying. Estranged Dad indeed. So for now, until the smoke clears and the facts separate from the speculation, I wait with growing horror that this happened at SU.

immediate knee-jerk defense of a lifelong friend, and most of us would probably make the same mistake.

I certainly wouldnt call a press conference and without ANY proof accuse the VICTIM as Boeheim did.

Though I respect your phrase "....Fine's apparent lifestyle choices" -- because you're clearly trying to be objective and not judge the man before he's proven guilty -- I would also point out that pedophilia is not exactly a "lifestyle choice"; it's a very serious and very disgusting crime.  Other than that quibble, Bingo!  You hit the nail on the head with this post.   Boeheim has indeed done it to himself by doing nothing more than offering an immediate knee-jerk defense of a lifelong friend, and most of us would probably make the same mistake.
