First it was Northern Arizona. Then UNC Greensboro. Now Idaho State has an opening.

Joe O'Brien resigned on Monday after a career mark with the Bengals of 56-105.

Idaho State was 2-8 this season and was coming off a loss to Utah. One of the team's victories came against a non-Division 1 opponent.

“I appreciate all that Joe has done for Idaho State Athletics over his six years as head coach,” Idaho State Jeff Tingey said in a statement. “His team's played hard on the court and continually took part in various community activities here in the Pocatello community. I wish him the best of luck in his future.”

Assistant coach Deane Martin has been named the interim coach.
