Ole Miss leading scorer Dundrecous Nelson has been kicked off the team for violating team rules, just days after being arrested and charged with with possession of drug paraphernalia in his home.

The 5-foot-11 sophomore guard was averaging 11.6 points per game, but had struggled and scored a total of 14 points over the past three games. He had been replaced in the starting lineup by freshman Jarvis Summers.

Nelson was arrested on Tuesday night, shortly after the team's 50-48 victory against SMU. The police report stated that officers smelled marijuana from the home and found eight roaches.

Seldom-used reserve Jamal Jones was also kicked off the team for admitting to smoking marijuana with Nelson.

Andy Kennedy's Rebels are 10-4 and open SEC play at LSU on Saturday.

So was he kicke off the team for drug paraphernalia or was he kicked off because he was struggling on the court?  Who planted the stuff?

d(ic)kh(ead), Ole Miss is not "the beacon of institutional integrity" of the SEC. Your miniscule brain power is probably representative of wherever you graduated pre-school, which is obviously the highest grade level you achieved. You are most definitely a genius.

According to Andy Katz on ESPN, Andy Kennedy said that Kendrick is expected to replace Nelson.  It also states that Kendrick has played in 3 games.

Danstop, I would like the answer to your question also.  Since he was dismissed from Memphis, there hasn't been any news regarding him.  It is like he dropped off the face of the earth.  It is a shame because he is a very talented player.

Its pretty funny (and evenly sad) when the Ole Miss basketball program is the beacon of institutional integrity for your conference.

Btw, great first name... Dundrecous!

Where is Jelan Kendrick? Is he hurt, suspended, or just benched? I hope that he has not squandered his second chance.
