Let's talk about sports and enjoy the scenary.
A bump for this new thread.
Another bump for the Super Bowl!
this is exhausting trying to jump to the next thread, i swear if someone misses one day they will be lost forever
LOL! so true! I've posted this new link on the no way thread as well.
Programs! Get your programs! Can't find a hot chick av thread without a program! lol
We can still post on the Hot chick avatar thread as of right now. Here's the link.
This is probably a good place to post it too - It's hard to argue that it is off topic on the SPIN board.
The other option might be to hide away on some DIII team page.
In any event the view is still great - and I'll figure out those redwing fans eventually.
Speaking of which is Chris Osgood done for or will he get his spot back from Ty Conklin?
Can't wait for the super bowl to get going. Only one more day. Afternoon all.
Well i enjoyed my superstar status for a day and now its gone. is it because i got a warning. I cant believe they gave me one my first av was worse then the second that they gave me the warning on. but anyway hello my friends. lets just try and have some fun.
I'm pretty sure this will be very similar to last years playoff. Ozzie will start in goal in the begining . If he falters like Hasek did, Babcock will make a change.
40, I'm hoping this location will appease the admins. As far as Ozzy goes, it's more of a defensive problem than Ozzy's problem but this could be the last year for Ozzy in Detroit. Jimmy Howard should be with the big club next year.
Redwing111, yup! I've got all my liquid refreshments all lined up!
Greg44, I lasted just a little longer than you. If you don't get anymore warnings you should be off of probations in 3 months. I'm on till April!
What is up with the wings lately? Defense has definately been shaky...
well i just uploaded another one its just a girl in a thong. they let me have the first one but the second they jacked me. and it was nothing compared to the first. i think it depends on the mood their in. and yesterday they were out for blood. bad timing i guess. 3 months for your first warning, man thats rough. my mother would say back in the day.your new friends are a bad influence on you. lol you guys are the riff raff of sportsline and your pulling me in. LMAO
Redwing #19 props to you for being the master of thread hopping to keep us on topic. It seems we [the regular posters of the original thread] have been 'hitlisted' in an attempt to keep 'the community' on topic. I don't get how we get warnings but when you go to change your av, half of the 'featured' avs are just as bad as ours. It seems this site is practicing more hpocrisy than the government.
And going back to the whole canceling Detroit's annual Thanksgiving Day Game, I think the analysts should shut their mouths. It's not about how bad the team is, it's about how special the tradition is to the city in a time of such hardship. Nobody is to blame more for the Lions' 'demise' than the current owners aka the Ford family. It's bad enough that you run your company into the ground, and now you want to do it to the football team too? I think we can all be glad that the Ford's don't own the Red Wings. Before making stupid assumptions, the media should actually visit Detroit and see how bad it has really gotten. In times like these, everyone should practice a bit of generosity and think about those that have lost almost everything and now are on the brink of losing their homes. The nation has already begun to label Detroit a ghost town, but I read an excellent article the other day- I'll post a link to it if anyone's interested. All jokes aside, it really moved me and is one of the better pieces of writing that I have had the opportunity to reach. Much better than the usual garbage the media spews in an attempt to generate views and ratings. It's called 'The Courage Of Detroit' by Mitch Albom. Here is the link to it:

As far as the subject of L.T. goes, I think he would prefer to go to a contender (sorry San Diego fans, but that ship sailed from Qualcomm Stadium). My personal preference would be for him to go New England, where a running game would allow them to play more Ball COntrol and dominate teams once Tom Brady is healthy again. I'm thinking he'll be a tad rusty for the start of the season but with good protection he can work some of the MVP magic he still has left over.
Anyone watching UFC 94 tonight? It should be a rematch of epic proportions. I'm looking for Rush to take it by the end of Round 3.
Hey madcow - faved you. Welcome to the thread. I think the defense would be shaky too - especially if fans dressed that way.
I'm so used to seeing the Red Wings dominate year in and year out, it is becoming harder to nit pick at stuff, but I have seen them play twice this year down in Phoenix and have noticed that they are shaky. The Coyotes are not a great team by any stretch of the imagination, yet they were able to score and make it look like they were playing an AHL team.
I'm sure they will turn it around - but maybe in the "new" NHl, age is not everything anymore.

Good point L.T.
Really I don't know that it would be right if the Lions did not play on Turkey Day. There are just some teams that you get used to watching and it does not matter how good or bad they are. The Cowboys stunk it up a lot this year too - of course they did not go 0-fer. but they were not great. That doesn't mean we will talk about trashing their schedule as well.
The Lions are going through a down time, heck it's taken the Cardinals forever to do something decent and getting 6 of your 9 wins against the NFC West and 1 more against the Dolphins before anyone knew how they would play sure does not seem to scare anyone - yet look what they have done. I really believe the Lions are just a few players away from putting it all together. Look at what Miami pulled off this year - that is the beauty of pro-sports -- even when things don't seem even it usually evens out eventually. The Yankees are another great example of that.
Hey Everybody....sorry I'm late!
Great work Redwing at creating a thread better suited to our talents.
I'm in the middle of talent recruiting so be ready for updates.
I just realized that I haven't given my bowl prediction.
Cardinals - 27
Steelers - 23
We should do a little pool to see who has the best handle on SuperBowl. Run all the vegas props ie; coin toss, receptions, 1st turnover.... tiebreaker total points!
Whoever wins gets to pick to pick everyone else's avatar for a week? Or something else bragging rights related?
Pumped for the game tomorrow, hope it lives up!
Rizzle, I don't agree with your prediction, but I hope you are right! I'm really anxious to see what the Cardinals do in the offseason. My Broncos have a ton of salary cap room, but most of it needs to be spent on defense. It would be nice to have Boldin line-up opposite Marshall.

If you read the article mentioned in my previous post, you won't be able to help but be quite moved by the state of affairs in Detroit. Then you'll understand my hate for the media and the Dollar-centric universe we live in.
