Well PJ, they are not going to pray for the sikh temple victims because they are dirty heathens who have not taken christ as their savior and were subject to god's wrath

Eh, utkipp1, read back a few posts.  I've already prayed and continue to include them (the Sihks) in my prayers.  We lift them and anyone else who is suffering in prayer.  Murder is always a tragedy.

Absolutely - and not only prayers for the victims & their families, but for the lost soul Michael Wade who perpretrated this horrible act.  - and the same for James Holmes in Colorado.

Do you think THEY may be in need of prayer ?

"we do not make requests of you because we are righteous, but because of your great mercy"

utkipp - we pray for all - for all of us are in desperet need of God's Grace & mercy.

Prayers

August 8, 2012 12:03 am

Hello everyone.

Please if you would, pray for my aunt who died on Sunday of heart failure following a bout of pneumonia.  I can't complain for my loss and the loss of my family too much, because the woman was 94 years old and had a full life.  But her community and all Christians have had a wonderful person taken from them.

This was a woman who had no children, had an abusive husband who died many years ago, and who worked hard at a series of menial jobs, despite graduating from an Ivy League school with an advanced degree.  So she embraced the church and gave tirelessly of herself and her time.  She taught English to immigrants, worked at a soup kitchen and even adopted local poor families to do chores provide small financial boosts to get them on their feet.  And did all this until only a couple of years ago, when the sickness wouldn't go away.

So help lift up my aunt to her reward and hope that she is in that eternal bliss with the Lord right now.

God bless you all.

I thank and praise God for creating people like your aunt. She sounds like a truly great woman. Surely we should pray for you and your family/church/friends because you will miss her dearly. After your testimony of her Christian faith I feel sure that she is with our Lord in heaven right now.

Lord, please help Iron Sheik and his family, his aunt's church and community to deal with the loss of this great woman. Surely the grief is great but we know You are far greater than any problem we could possibly have. Please bring comfort and assurance to those who she has left behind here as only You are able to do. Also, please allow her testimony and her life's work to continue to bring glory, honor and praise to your Most Holy Name forever and ever. Please bring the comfort to Iron Sheik in that he will both see his aunt again and worship You with her in heaven forever and ever. Amen.

A great elderly lady in my church recently passed away that I didn't know (because I am new to this church) but I can see the grief and the loss on everybody's faces and I can feel their pain. She was the kind of person that was always worrying about and working in the church so everybody (but me) knew her. She will be greatly missed also but with our Lord we know she is now in His Presence serving Him and will be forever and ever. Though we grieve and feel great pain at the loss of such a person, we can take great comfort in knowing that our Lord will wipe away all tears from their faces and take care of their every need always.

Thank our Lord Jesus Christ for His wonderful promises and keeping His word always by taking care of all of us!

God bless you, too, Iron Sheik.

My mother-in-law is over 100 and is still alive but is bedridden and suffers every day. She has been in this situation for several years now. We pray that the Lord will take her when He is ready to do so and end her suffering and hardship, though the family will miss her greatly.

Please pray for her.

Also, my cousin with leukemia is fighting the good fight against it as best she can. Please continue to pray for her - she is only 45 and is looking death in the face as I type this. She is also a great Christian lady who needs the Lord at this time of suffering in her life.

Prayers

August 9, 2012 1:35 pm

Hey geneh,

Things are about to get a lot better.  At the end of June I was in a small wreck that thankfully didn't add to my back injuries enough to need more surgery, just enough bruising around the old injuries according to the scans that the doctor said it'll hurt for a while.  The doctor had to up the dosage on my pain meds for the brief time, so I'm praying against the addiction coming back.  However, yesterday he did bilateral epidural injections in my spine, which if it's anything like the ones I had almost a year ago after being hit, they should get me back to my "normal," so I'm happy about that!

I meant to mention in my previous post that I am praying for your post from the other day, and I saw the one about your loved ones who are suffering, and they are in my prayers too.

Iron,

I'm very sorry for your loss.  It sounds like she is finally receiving her eternal reward!  Praying for your family and all who suffered losing her.

Gary,

Lifting up your friend who is sick, as well, brother.

I hope everyone is doing well...

Just to brighten the mood round these parts a little bit, I'm sending out some well-wishes to one of my closest friends, who along with his wonderful lady, are about to have their first child - a boy.

And when I say "about to," I mean now - like, right now..  Like water broken, in the hospital... pushing as I type this kind of now.

So best of luck to the both of you... and the little guy!

A praise report:

After a close first cousin of mine who passed away unexpectedly in 2007 at the age of 23, the family knew that God still wasn't finished with her.  She is in heaven, which is the best part.  She had a heart for helping others.  My aunt & uncle came up with an idea to help a "renesting project" in her memory.  So, in the summer of 2010 we held the first event.  People donate all different things, and there were live and silent auctions.  Last weekend was the third one.  The goal of this renesting project is to help the homeless (or people who might have a place to live, but they literally have nothing in it.)  It has gotten bigger each passing year, and the warehouse with all of the stuff purchased with the money raised is completely full.  It's enough so that every weekend there are trips made to completely furnish a home for someone who has absolutely nothing!  Lives have been and will continue to be changed, and all the glory goes to God.  This wouldn't be possible without His help.  Even when things might get stressful in preparing, He always provides a way for us to get it done!  We are all beyond thankful.

May God continue to bless us all!

Nathan,

That's awesome, and thanks for letting me know!  Yes, you need to get the pictures and send them now. Tongue out

I can imagine that's the best feeling, welcoming your own child into the world.

Now they just have to raise him...
