I currently have Roy Halladay (I feel obligated to thank Marty every time I type his name), Brandon Morrow, and Brandon Beachy all on the DL for at least the next two weeks.  Unless Beachy has a season-ending injury (really hope he doesn't), I doubt I have any flexibility to make a trade or waiver wire addition for that matter because I'm certainly not dropping any of them for just another one-week wonder.

too bad Jose Tabata hasn't lived up to his sleeper potential...lol

I need him to be DFA'd. Presley is better and Starling Marte has nowhere to play unless baseball changes to a 4 outfielder setup.

 At the YMCA, and in Boy Scouts, the showers are separated from Boys 17 and younger and Men 18 and older. This guy was a predator, clear and simple. I loved Joe Pa and wanted him to continue coaching as long as he wanted to until this came out. He had the chance to clear his conscience before he died and chose not to... A head coach at an institution that big does not keep his job without knowing everything that is going on. Sandusky may not have any remorse for victimizing those boys but I am sure Joe Pa is going to spend eternity regretting his decision not to come clean with what he knew.

Good Tuesday Morning GB10, looks like Heat and humidity are coming to town...BOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Everyone said Game 2 was a must win for the Heat and now I think that Game 4 is a must win for the Thunder.  These playoff series always seem to come down to which team makes the best adjustments from game to game and if OKC doesn't play better team defense without fouling, Miami might be celebrating the first of not one, not two, not three...Chmpionships on their home floor.


Last night my hitters busted out their whoopin sticks vs Austin as I got HRs from Joey Votto, Robinson Cano, Aramis Ramirez, Starlin Castro, and Jay Bruce in putting up nearly 60 points without a single point from any of my pitchers.  I lead by nearly 40 points and now based on the scoreboard, we are tied with 5 SPs remaining (1 of his in the RP slot) and to be honest I think I'm going to get a 2nd start from Jake Peavy that currently isn't being reflected.

Brandon Morrow went down last Monday after only 9 pitches and took a -7 for his effort, Cliff Lee has yet to win a single game despite a solid ERA and WHIP, and Brandon Beachy is likely going to be done for the season so yes my starting rotation of SPs has hit a rough stretch here the last few weeks, but let me ask you a few simple questions:

Do you really think that Cliff Lee is not going to win a single game the entire season or is he due for a correction?
Do you think Roy Halladay is going to return from the DL and be a Top 30 SP sometime after the All-Star break?
Do you think Brandon Morrow is going to return from the DL in a couple weeks and continue to be a Top 30 SP?
Do you think Jake Peavy, Chris Capuano, Ricky Romero, and Madison Bumgarner can remain healthy the rest of the season?

Or do you think that Dave has found a way to keep Lightning in a bottle with Cueto, Bailey, Parker, Nova, E. Jackson, Hanson, McCarthy and Dubront?  My guess is at least half of these guys are released before the All-Star break.

Be wary of the guy who has to trash another team's players by looking at a very small sample size of data (yes Dave 3 weeks is an extremely small sample size) in order to make his players look better.

Based on Dave's logic of evaluating quality SPs based on the last 21 days of performance, in addition to the majority of the SPs on my roster, the following SPs outside the Top 60 are now bunk and should be consider untrade worthy as well:

Johan Santana
David Price
James McDonald
James Shields
Dan Haren
Gio Gonzalez
Cole Hamels
Tim Lincecum...all right I may have to give him this one...lol
Felix Hernandez
and of course his own Jared Weaver...I think I could be convinced to part with one of my two Catchers for a player that hasn't scored a single point in the last 21 days...lol

I'm not in the ESPN League, but if I recall it is a Head-2-Head matchup using the ROTO format.  Is King Felix so mediocre in WHIP, ERA, and Ks that his minimal value in Wins hurts his value substantially or is Dave simply tring to over-inflate his value based on name recognition alone?

Ehhhh...I guess it depends on what you are trying to accomplish.  My recollection of previous Rangers SPs is that as the Texas Heat rises into the 90's and above through September, their performance decreases due to shorter outings and more HRs given up.  I guess if you think that King Felix has under-performed (not sure what I think of him right now), then now would be a great time to sell high on Harrison.

I like the concept, but can't access any ESPN League from work...in a daily league that simply isn't acceptable.  Now I should be getting a new smart phone in the next few weeks, so maybe my stance will change, but only time will tell.
