USC is 17-10 against the SEC. What does it mean?
They're not an elite team like LSU 14-3 against the Pac.
Ya'll are missing the point of the conversation. USC is good as long as they have media voting for a Champion. If you have to win it on the field in a Championship game of 1 versus 2, they have 1 NC and LSU has 2.
Also, I' glad so many Pac guys are saying Bama is 1 of the 2 elite programs in the country, LSU is 9-4 versus Bama this century. We weren't elite last century but we are now....and we will have our best team ever next year and win our 3rd Championship of the BCS era. Word

In your comparison of states, you forget that there are also 3 other BCS schools in California as well as 2 or 3 mid-majors as well that are ompeting for those same recruits. How many BCS schools are in Louisianna again? Come talk to us when LSU becomes something more than a footnote in college football history. Until then we remain.........not impressed!! We do find it flattering that you want us to be impressed though.

How many BCS schools are in Louisianna again? And that's just in our own state. Check the rosters of teams in the surrounding states and see how many players are from California. |

They have had their best run in their history since 2000 but please stop trying to put them in the category with USC because there not. It is amaing that you sit there and talk excuses about why those stats are what they are. It is interesting that you talk about media love when the SEC gets more than its fair share of that. A prime example is when a 2 loss LSU team somehow makes it to a BCS championship game. Huh? Media love. Then you get a taste of your own medicine when Bama gets the nod over a couple other teams that most the country thinks were more deserving and Whoops your arces. You might have held up your 3rd trophy had you played OK St or someone else. I just dont get how you can claim media love when that is what the SEC has had a good relationship with for most of the BCS era. Hollywood doesnt make the plays on the field either and we all know that the West doesnt get much media love anyway. |

SEC teams get the benefit of the doubt by virtue of proven success. SEC teams are 8-1 in the Championship Game and Pac teams are 1-2. That's not media bias, that's proven success versus unproven. Having said that, I personally think USC was good enough to play for the Championship on a couple of occasions so I understand the feeling USC and many West Coast fans have....I live on the left coast myself now. |

Media bias towards SC? That is one of the dumbest statements ever. If SC was the media darlings you claim them to be, then they would've received a slap on the wrist. I am so sure the NCAA/media would much prefer a schools with no drawing power like Oregon and Stanford to become the west coast teams.
The different is SC can have a bad game in the Pac-12 and lose, LSU has a bad eame in the SEC and can still beat teams. Pac-12> much harder to go through undefeated than the SEC. |

Silly Coug. USC plays in a conference that no other team in the conference has won a NC in over 20 years. 5 different teams in the SEC have won 8 NC just since the BCS era. The last 2 years, the SEC Champ has beaten the Pac Champ. |

SEC is so loved by the media it’s ridiculous.
Actually all of CFB is getting to the point of ridiculous and jumped the shark when Bama played LSU, which went down as one of the least viewed BCS title games, and the most boring. An average offense laid 21 on a average defense. And LSU’s offensive game plan, was offensive to every person who has a passion for football.
Oh and LSU---Of course Zach Meatburger looks good right now—he’s playing against your overrated D. AJ McCarron is an average soph QB and your average D made him look like Andrew Luck. One of the most overrated secondary’s I’ve ever seen. I don’t even remember who AJ was throwing to? Certainly not Julio. |

And yet we OWN the Pac-10. Eleven in a row and counting and 2 beat downs of the Pac Champion. You're only recourse, as so many other Pac fans fave done, is talk about LSU's record versus Bama last century. This century, LSU is tied with UF & Bama for most BCS National Championships and we have won more SEC Titles this century than either of them and have the edge face to face with both. Bama has two NC in the last 3 years while LSU has zero. Bama has never lost a BCS title game while LSU has been shut out in one. Bama has more conf titles then any team in the LSU which includes LSU. continue to say this century since its been such a long 11 years but your falling right in line with ole whodem who used to post on this site. Remember ole whodem used to hang his hat on LSU being the only team to have two BCS titles. Well florida won two an now bama so the mighty LSU fan lost that as an arguing point. I do find it funny however that you keep saying BCS as if CFB started in 1998. I understand as an LSU fan this is your best stretch of football ever for you but teams dont get to 800 plus wins by just counting the BCS period. Teams dont get to 14 NCs by just counting the BCS period (3 NC for LSU). Teams dont get to 26 conf titles by just counting the BCS period. Teams dont get to 50 plus bowl appearance by just counting the BCS period. Stats an history didnt start over with the BCS. Just like it didnt start over when the AP poll started. Just like it didnt start over when they decided to announce NC after the Bowls. Just like it didnt start over when they started the bowl coalition which was before the BCS. CFB always goes thru eras an change but the records continue on. Only do you try to squeeze the accomplishments of your team into a 11 year period. It makes it look like LSU was garbage before 1998 when really they had some good teams sprinkled in there. Eithe way when a fan of CFB thinks of the SEC they think of Alabama......not LSU. |
